Submitting anonymous tips to the BLE
Do you have evidence of violations of the prohibition of unfair trading practices? You can use our anonymous online tip-off system to submit tips to us and communicate with us while retaining complete anonymity.
Unfair trading practices do not take place in the public sphere but within the business relationships between suppliers and buyers. As an enforcement authority, we, the BLE, therefore rely on you to share your knowledge with us and notify us of violations of the prohibition of unfair trading practices.
We recognise that individuals or companies affected by or aware of unfair trading practices may be reluctant to disclose this information to an authority out of concern for negative consequences (e.g. concern for their job or supply relationship). It is such insider knowledge, though, that can be particularly valuable for the detection, stopping and sanctioning of unfair trading practices, and thus may help prevent further infringements.
For this reason, the BLE has set up an anonymous tip-off system. The system meets the highest data protection requirements and is certified accordingly. A technical tracing of your tip is impossible. The system has been used for years by authorities (e.g. police authorities, state criminal investigation offices, Federal Cartel Office) and by well-known companies (e.g. in the fight against corruption). For more information on the system, please see www.business-keeper.com.
Of course, you can also submit anonymous tips by mail or by telephone. However, you must then ensure that no clues to your identity (e.g. name, address or a telephone number appearing in the display) are recognisable to us, as otherwise your anonymity is no longer guaranteed.
