International Meeting on Quality Control of Fruit and Vegetables
The BLE organizes every second year the International Meeting on Quality Control of Fruit and Vegetables. The Meeting is directed towards inspectors of governmental authorities as well as interested persons from industry.

36th International Meeting on Quality Control of Fruit and Vegetables (IAT-2027)
The 36th International Meeting on Quality Control of Fruit and Vegetables (IAT-2027) will take place from March 16 to 18, 2027, as an in-person event at the Federal Ministry of Agriculture, Food, and Regional Identity, Rochusstraße 1, 53123 Bonn.
We will begin on March 16, 2027, at 9:00 a.m. with registration and conclude on March 18, 2027, around noon.
IAT-2027 will focus on the following topics:
- Food loss and waste
- Packaging in the fruit and vegetable sector, including the new EU Packaging Regulation (PPWR)
- Quality control, including questions for the BLE
- New pests in horticulture
The following product categories will also be a focus:
- Edible mushrooms
- Citrus fruits (grapefruits and pomelos)
- Kiwifruit
- Pears

The cost of participation is 150 Euro per person and includes conference attendance, meals, and participation in our “Rhineland Evening.”

The 35th International Working Conference on Quality Control of Fruit and Vegetables (IAT-2025) took place from March 25th to 27th, 2025, as an in-person event at the Gustav Stresemann Institute in Bonn.

The Working Group on Quality Control of Fruit and Vegetables is an association of the inspection services of the Federal government and the Laender. This working group initiated the International Meeting Quality Control Fruit and Vegetables. Today, the contents and organization of the meeting is ministered by the Federal Office for Agriculture and Food.
The other cooperation partner of the IAT-2025 was the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD).
