International Meeting on Quality Control of Fruit and Vegetables
The IAT-2025 took place from March 25th to 27th, 2025, as an in-person event at the Gustav Stresemann Institute in Bonn. One of the main topics was Africa, its fruit and vegetables diversity and production conditions. The second focus was the implementation and interpretation of the EU regulations on marketing standards for fruit and vegetables as well as bananas, which came into force on January 1, 2025.
Sweet potatoes, bananas and nuts were also be discussed in terms of quality, varity and UNECE (United Nations Economic Commission for Europe) standards.
Quality Control of Fruit and Vegetables at the BLE
The BLE controls the compliance with marketing standards of different horticultural and agricultural products, which are traded in Germany and the European Union or imported and exported.
