Cooperation with FAO
In December 2010, the BLE took over management tasks of the Bilateral Trust Fund (BTF), which is a programme owned by the Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture (BMEL) in support of bilateral activities with the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO). The BTF currently has an annual budget of about 9 million Euro. Since 2002, it supported more than 95 projects with a total budget of 117 million Euro.
Placement of experts and APOs to the FAO
On behalf of the Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture (BMEL), the BLE carries out tasks specific tasks regarding the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO). This includes support to applicants for FAO vacant positions and the programme for associate experts (known as Associate Professional Officer - APO) at the FAO.
